Institute of Management organised seminar on ‘Developing World Class Management Teachers’ on June 23, 2017.The Key Note Address was delivered by ParamaPoojya Shree Swami VeereshanandaSaraswathi,President, Ramakrishna –Vivekananda Ashrama,Tumakuru. Dr. GururajKarajagi, Chairman, Academy for Creative Teaching, Bangalore in his address emphasized the importance of ‘Knowing, Doing and Being’. To know is to think and doing is to develop the art /skill. Being is the impact on others or empathy. Hence Management Education should focus on all the three components-KNOWING, DOING & BEING. Sri. ShrihariUdupa, CEO & Director, Agora Analytics, Bangalore opined that MOOCs and online learning platforms have provided the content.
A management teacher should use this content and bring in something new to each class instead of just teaching the content as it is. Dr.Akhilesh.K.B, Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science and Sri. Satyesh N Bellur,VicePresident,International Sales, Tejas Networks, Bangalore brought in the ways to be a world class management teacher. The programme was presided by Sri. D.P.Nagaraj,Hon.
