“SAMMILANA 2018 – ALUMNI MEET”
Sammilana 2018 – Alumni Meet was held on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Around 95 Alumni had participated in the meet and enjoyed the meet thoroughly. The Alumni Meet was commenced with invoking the blessings of Almighty with an invocation song. The Alumni Meet was presided by CA. Dr. Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, Trustee, RSST & Chairman, Governing council, RVIM. Dr.Purushottam Bung, Director, RVIM welcomed the dignitaries and the alumni followed by lighting the lamp.In his welcome address, The Director highlighted about the importance of alumni contribution to their alma mater. A panel discussion was conducted on the topic “Importance of Alumni in Institution Building” wherein selected alumni achievers were participated as panel members and Dr.A.Narasima Venkatesh, Associate Professor & Co-ordinator of Alumni Relations moderated the panel discussion in the presence of Director – RVIM and President of the Programme. Few of the alumni also shared their views related to the role of alumni in institution building.Nominations were solicited from Alumni from various batches for “Sammilana 2018- RVIM Alumni Achiever Award”. After receiving the nominations from various alumni achievers and scrutinizing the same, the Jury, finally has shortlisted 11 alumni achievers to be honoured under five award categories. Subsequently, 10 alumni achievers were awarded by Director and President of the programme on the day of the event as one of the alumni has expressed his inability to attend the programme due to unavoidable circumstances. CA. Dr. Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, Trustee, RSST & Chairman, Governing council, RVIM, in his presidential remarks suggested alumni to become entrepreneurs rather than searching for a job. Later alumni took active participation in various fun games organized by II Semester MBA Students which was coordinated by Ms.Anitha D’Silva, Assistant Professor and Co-cordinator-Alumni Relations. Skit, Mime, Dance, songs etc., were also performed by II Semester MBA Students to entertain the alumni. Alumni Feedback Form was distributed and collected back to seek their valuable feedback regarding various aspects like            Teaching & Learning, Faculty,, Infrasturcture, Placements, Sports, curricular,    co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, social responsibility activities etc., Finally both alumni and II Semester students participated in DJ and the alumni meet was concluded with dinner amidst a sense of tremendous cheer and happiness surrounding the whole environment.
