Formal recognition of the quality of an educational program /Institution by an external independent agency on the basis of impartial assessment on the basis of well-defined criteria is called as Accreditation. It  is  a  kind  of  recognition  which  indicates  that  a programme or Institution fulfills certain standards. NBA is one of the body in India who involves in accrediting the courses.

Till    recently    NBA    was    for    input    –    output    based accreditation, now it has switched over to outcome based accreditation.

Outcome based education is student centered learning method that   focus   on   measuring   student   performance   i.e.   Outcomes. Outcomes may include a range of skills and knowledge.Outcome based accreditation – focus remains on evaluation of outcomes of the Program, though Input and Output parameters are also looked into.
